Mentioning no names to protect the innocent and the site. I have a friend who had a little bump in her car. cry.png
No problem until she spoke to her insurer over the claim. They declared sorry madam the other party was not insured so you will lose your no claims but we will repair your car.suprised.png

Fuming and luckily working for the police she then checked this.

Would you believe the other person whose fault it was is insured by the same supermarket as she was! Every little helps! wink.png

Needless to say the problem was resolved very quickly and at no extra cost to my friend.

The lesson. Try to get the name and policy of the other peoples insurer if you have a bump. And beware insurers trying to get a little back!

A lesson to remember but also an issue with finding cheap insurance it's cheap as they don't want to pay out

I actually think that that is outrageous, almost bordering on the criminal. In fact, it probably is - it is in effect obtaining pecuniary advantage by deception, if it is true...

You would think that a supermarket that claims £1 in £3 of our grocery pounds would behave a little better (allegedly).....

yep it is a true one! Lucky for my friend her job with the local constabulary and a bit of investigation on  her part led to a very quick u-turn by her insurer.

Makes you wonder how common this behaviour is when both parties are with the same insurer. Your average jo probably wouldn't question it!
