hi there well last month i added a thread on faults n fixes asking for info on why my mini one gearbox has gone twice in three months....... anyway never found out altho hear the midland box has had some issues.... had the gearbox done and flogged it and bought myself a 2003 cooper s at the age of 19 all very well apart from the insurance which i cant find anywhere under the region of about 2k. IS or has anyone been in this position because i need some quick suggestions as i pick the car up on thursday! cheers

You can get one of your parents to insure the car and have you as a named driver. That should be a lot cheaper, just remember to read the small print about your excess etc.

Have you tried quinn direct - there a insurance broker that are based in ireland & the uk - they insured my S for 2years from the age of 22 -only changed as adrian flux insure modified mini's

They were the cheapest i found - if not try the supermarkets & or Directline or other brokers

I also bought my S when i was 19 and didn't really consider the insurance until afterwards. After quite a bit of searching around I found that Adrian Flux were by far the cheapest plus you get a bit off for being an SCNM member.
I'm pretty sure that mine was around £900, that was my own policy with a couple of years ncb.
