Posts: 424 | ladys and gents ... after much thaught ive decided to follow a thaught by the vdub boys and use oem parts and mod them to what i want due to my budget ... which is MINImal (sorry) parts will be sourced via ebay and forums and such so my questons are .... has anyone fitted bumpers and sideskirts themselves if so how easy and will S bumpers (maybe areo) fit strait on a cooper? is the bonnet as easy as it looks to remove and fit an S one ? and last but not least i know i will need a new exhaust will it be the case of swapping them over useing dffrent mounts or will there be chassis diffrences between the 2 and dont panic ... i will not be putting any badges on trying to fool people that it will be an S cheers for any help guys !!! Bringing the alternative to the mini !! | ||

Makes it look like an S and should be a straight swap except for the rear bumper. The bumpers will fit straight on. I know Keith has done it to his One. Should be pretty easy. There are lots of "how to" guides on MINI2. The bonnet should be as easy as it looks. The hardest bit would be swapping the lights, unless the S bonnet has the lights still in it. But still even thats not difficult. Lots of people have done it so check the guides on MINI2. And don't forget to take lots of piccys! | ||

Posts: 424 | quick update .... many thanks for yout help will be calling mini matt in a couple of days about a bonnet ... will see if he will have my cooper one in a part ex ... may be cheeky but worth a shot matt .. cheers for the advise about the exhausts ... have looked in to it and looks quite simple to do ... one of the drivers at work who happends to drive a skyline gtr has mut me in touch with a company called maniflow who supply minisport with there classic exhausts and thay might be interested in makeing a one off job for my car bumper wise ... the haynes bible says its only a few bolts to hold it on which is handy ive got a few prices on ebay and such of about 10 and 70 quid ... i just need to decide if i want silver bumpers or black ones ... hmmm [ Edited Thu Mar 19 2009, 09:48PM ] Bringing the alternative to the mini !! | ||
