My sincere condolances, from me, Sonia and Ellie.

I cant believe this news. So sad. I was only thinking of Malc last week, when I spotted a Brge being transported by a lorry on the M4.

Its a sad loss and in such tragic circumstances.

Dora, sorry to hear of your loss. Too lose your soul mate cannot be described in words. I too have fond memories of Max, he was one of the first people that i met in SCNM and he encouraged me to attend my first MINI run (pre owning Hazel) in my 1.2L clio. Malcolm was one of the few genuinely people who i would call a friend. I will always remember him with his head in a bonnet checking out engines of MINI's and the noise of his GGR conversion. Please give me a call if you need to talk to anyone (i know i was one of your closest friends when you two got together) and recent times and distance kinda meant we didnt see much of you.

Our thoughts are with you and Malcolm's family

Lawrence and Rachel xxx

It was a pleasure meeting and knowing Malcolm. He was a complete stranger to me, but the first time I ever met him he asked me to drive his newly convereted GGR to guage it against the Hartge conversion I had driven. A complete stranger. Out of the blue. Asking you to give their car a quick hiding thru the countryside.

Hi peeps,

Thanks for all your kind words and thoughts, and the lovely photos.

I can't say much in a public forum, however, things are not as smooth as I'd like them to be, if you know what I mean.

However, I shall keep you posted about what is happening.

Please be assured that I personally will organise something to honour and celebrate his life, even if it goes against the grain with the others.

Please keep the photos coming amazed.png

If at all possible, please send any photos to contact @ appletheminicooper . net, as I have a cunning plan! amazed.png

We've just heard this very sad news, and our thoughts are with you Dora, and his family. We've known Max for a few years now, and he was someone who was totally committed to the world of minis and gave a huge amount of his time to SCNM and to us members.  He will be really missed.

Borda the Terrorist

Borda was quite subdue within the first 24h or so after his tragic death, however, he appears to be coping well. Put it this way, he is eating well, and as cheeky as ever!

He seems to like staying with me, and having to walk him everyday will do me some good.

Jess the cat is probably feeling a bit put out by Borda being here all the time, however, I am sure they will get along fine sooner or later.

Just found this link from MINI2. Doesn't really tell us much more than we already know though.

Full works will appear in the Thursday's edition in Devizes and Malborough, one of their representatives interviewed me this morning smile.png

Apparently, it will be split into 2 parts due to the amount of information they have smile.png

i didnt think the canal boat was called the "big apple" barge though. as the article suggested. a few typos in it too. the description of malcolm sounded accurate, shorts in winter!

They got the name wrong, and it will be corrected for the articles appearing in Thu 13 Nov 08 additions.

Latest in the papers, I wonder who gave them the photos and details about SCNM etc... tongue.png

He is NOT retired, as he was a fully fledged officer in a non-deployable post at the time of his death, I kept re-emphasizing that bit when I was interviewed! mistrust.png
