Has anyone ever lost the silver cover on the head light washer arm?

The reason that i ask is that i noticed yesterday that one of mine has gone. There's no sign of any scratches or tampering with the car. The arm inside is not broken, but why steal it?

It could have fallen off - which seem equally unbelieveable as the other one is well stuck on.

I will try to post a picture to show what i mean.

My car looks funny without it!!

Yes, I had this happen on my Cooper S Conv that I had before my black hardtop.

With mine both rams went that push the washers in and out casuing them to stay out and then I knocked it and the facial came off one.

They should replace it under warranty.

As I said to you yesterday, is very odd for this to come off but I guess it could happen. Can't see why anyone would want to remove it from your MINI so must have come off while driving.

As neil said it should get fixed under warranty.

They do fly off as I discovered.

The day that I had a replacement xenon fitted I drove from Salisbury to Yorkshire.

When I got there the "eye" was gone.

Replaced under warranty no problems since then - a year ago.

regards

Max

Mine came off but that was when a bird flew into me. The actual cover costs next to nothing to replace i think. Unfortunately for me i needed a new washer arm as it'd snapped

The reason i asked was because when i phoned the 'stealer' to ask about replacing it they said they have to replace loads because they get stolen, so it would not be done under warranty.

Luckily when i took the car in they did fit it under warranty.

The car is ok now, just finger prints all over the bonnet despite a supposed wash!

They wet it down, and then use a Brillo pad to get rid of the scratches they previously put on it!

My car was not there on Saturday so not mine.

Aside from that they dont have a 'service' department anymore.

You have to take the car to the main showroom and park it in amongst all the other customer cars (just waiting to be hit by some careless customer) and then some random moves the seat and mirrors, drives it down to the service department and then back and parks it - again waiting to be hit by a careless customer.

Altogether not my idea of customer service - some clever idea to generate sales no doubt.

I didn't know you had to go to the main dealer now when you need service stuff done. Wouldn't trust them to look after my car and take the direct route.

Thought it was a great idea keeping the service and sales away from each and makes more room at the dealership for customers.

Must have missed that bit in the letter. Good job you guys said this as I was going to go to the service dept this week about a noise I've now started getting.
