All,

Just updated the first post with those that have recently said they are going.   I will update with more info about paying deposits and times once I talk to the people in charge.

Dave and Neil,   Please can you let me know your menu choices and if you will be bringing anyone else.

Thanks

John

I should be able to make the run and a drink or 2, but I don't think I will be able to stay for the meal.

well max had stated till the 20th nov so I guess I'll use that date. But as far as going on the run and bowling I guess that doesn't really matter as max around booked two lanes.

John (et al) Can I make a suggestion..... Perhaps we can/should run this by Dora first but.....
How about a raffle at the Christmas meal with all adults donating a prize and proceeds to Help For Hero's in honor of Max? I know this was a charity that Max supported.

Not sure whether we will be able to attend but may come for the run as we are getting fully booked for December. It would be good to see you all at the run though, even though it will be missing one very important person! But I'm sure he'll be looking down on us!

Ok Neil, be good to see you again. As you say will be missing one very important person and just happens to also be his birthday this same day.

This sounds like a nice idea. If someone is willing to arrange this that would be great.

All,

I'm going to make a trip to basingstoke this weekend to talk to the owner of the pub/resturant and explain what has happened and go over the final numbers with them. I will also stop by the bowling place to see what has been booked already and see if we need anything else paid for.

Therefore, can everyone that would like to go for the bowling and/or meal let me know by Friday at the latest and also your menu choices.

Thanks very much.

John

The idea of a raffle for Help for hero's sounds fantastic.I for one have a 1.5 Litre bottle of Captain Morgan Rum and would be glad to put it in the raffle so come on lets give it a go.And if I win it back i'll open it on the night . Brian

I'll be Happy to Run the raffle on the night. I'll get hold of a book of raffle tickets.

Also for an element of surprise how about the donators of the rafle proes bring them wrapped up in Xmas paper. If it's bottle shaped it may be Brian's bottle of rum, or maybe something less desirable (Speaking from experience here, I won a prize at the school bottle tombola last year, thought I'd get a nice bottle of spirits or wine and ended up with buble bath )

If everone brings along a decent prize and maybe the odd booby prize as well it could make it fun!
