I suggest you bring your car to a local reliable garage that can remove the gearbox, and then have it sent off to a gearbox specialist. The garage I went to was in Oxted just South of the M25, and the gearbox specialist they used charged 395 pound. This involved replacing all the bearings and even a couple of cogs. Getting the gearbox out though wasnt so cheap as it was rather labour intensive. Hope you know of a local decent garage. Goodluck!

The gear box is out and in pieces so they know what is causing the problem. Would you have a name of the gear box specialist?
