Right peeps!
Now...I've been talking to a few of you about getting alloys refurbed and stuff...Well I've finally pulled my finger out and am in a position to get mine done!

I've been told about a professional company based at Fareham called...wait for it..."The Wheel Specialist"!! suprised.png
Anyway! I spoke to a bloke there called Vernon about a possible group discount if we had several of us get our wheels done there. He is willing to do a discount if there is enough CONFIRMED BOOKINGS! I stress the word CONFIRMED!

The website is here: http://www.thewheelspecialist.co.uk/

Please go there and have a lookie!

I spoke to Vernon who explained what they do.
The run down is:
1. Take your car or your wheels in
2. They take off your tyres (Quite a few wheel refurb places don't do this!)
3. They then take off the existing layer of colour with chemicals and then shot blast it
4. They then respray your wheels in whatever colour you want (See this page: http://www.thewheelspecialist.co.uk/File/wheel-finishes.php)
5. They will then put your tyres back on when the wheels have cooled down.
6. They will then rebalance your wheels with the weights being stuck on to the inside of the wheel.
7. You then have lovely beautiful wheels!!

Sounds very good to me! Not a quick, rushed bodge job!

Prices

I spoke to Vernon and he said initially, a set of 4 18" wheels in a STANDARD finish (White, Silver, Black) would cost £329 INCLUDING VAT!! Yes I know its a bit more then what you were probably expecting BUT it is a very professional service, they take the tyres off and put them back, the finishes look GRRRRRRRREAT! And they are fairly local to people.

IF YOU HAVE SMALLER WHEELS (16", 17") THE PRICE IS REDUCED FROM THE ABOVE COST!!

AND!! That price is without any discount, so the more we have, the better the discount prehaps? So come on....spread the word! Doesn't just have to be MINIs!

THERE IS NO EXTRA COST FOR SAME DAY SERVICE!

Drop the car / wheels off in the morning, should be finished later that day!

Further Info

We do not have to all go on the same day to get our wheels done!

Just mention "South Coast New MINI Club" when you make your booking!

Many thanks to Sue (Tizzy) for the information!

So come on....I need CONFIRMED people for this...

Soooooo please dont let me down!

Arron

P.S. Phil....Be free for once and GET WHITE ALLOYS!! The silver looks MINGING with all that white on your car!

List of VERY interested people:

Aron, Panelrite in southampton will do it even if you dont have a group buy for a max of 220 inc vat. And if i go with you i think since you are getting 4 done they would know of the vat or atleast get the price to 200. I am friends with the people there i got mine done 17" flame spoke in white for £45 a wheel and i had some major deep curbing and they do exactly the same procedure as you have spoken about in any colour. Anyway you thought i would let you know.

Right...just rung them...

For the same service as the Wheel Specialist, it would be £80 per wheel (Shotblasting the paint off back to the metal work and then painting them back) and they would have to keep the wheels/car for about 3-4 days.
Hmm.

Whereas. ..that service at the Wheel Specialist is a 8am to mid afternoon job! Swish! And looking about the same price!

Now to try Lola's recommendation!

023 8070 4400-Speak to Dean, Mention James Calland. if for some reason he scratches his head say the guy who broguht them the red mini, then brought them the grey mini for a white wheel refurb. I do actually know him very well but whenever i see him he always forgets my name, so he might forget my name again. Guide price £50 inc vat per wheel. It will take best part of probs a day mabye 2.... but you get a courtesy car free of charge. If any probs i will give him a ring or one day in the weekend we can cruise over there and sort it, wont be a problem.

Sweet!

Now remember...Its gotta be SHOTBLASTED back to bare metal...not just a patch job over the current paint! Thats what costs the extra and takes the extra time

They send the alloys off somewhere else in Southampton to get that done, which I think adds to the length of the process.
Just means they come back looking awesome!

Anyway. Did you have a chance to ring them up Jimbo?

Remember: Shot blasting...Day service!

Alot of people dont have a spare set of wheels and will drop the car off for the day....

But thank you for the enquires Dave! Hopefully we can get something sorted out and I wont have to resort to Tipexing my wheels!
