Mark,

I have been to a Meg's training day, have a PC too! When the weather gets better lets arrange a day I can give you a hand. You need to clay the paint first tho which can be time consuming if done right.

Anyone else want to join us? Am quite happy to let anyone have a go of the PC on their car too.

Lee

Hey Lee,

i now remember you saying you were getting into detailing but had forgotten all about it.

Been looking into getting one for a while, saw a guy locally on DW selling a complete kit with transformer for £130 so the mrs bought it me for my bday.

Ok that'll be good. Planning on doing mine when i have had the front end done; No point wasting time doing the bonnet if its going to be painted!

Yep ive clayed the car a couple of times already; i just use megs quick clay. very mild but easy to use and providing the car isnt too bad i find it gives good results.

You wont want to put the PC anywhere near the fresh paint for at least 4 weeks IMHO. No harm in detailing round it tho. What wax have you choosen? I use Victoria Red at the moment gives a nice wet look. Collinite No. 476s Super DoubleCoat Auto Wax is also very good for dark colours.

no no, i wouldnt dream of it. i was planning on just waxing it and then detailing the rest of the car to match the fresh paint.
I've just gone for all poorboys products at the moment, its cheap and thought it would get me started. Im obviously no professional so i wont be achieving perfect results. I think the wax is called Nattys Paste?!

Nattys Blue is good stuff! My m8 uses it on his GP and gets some fantastic results. Smells GREAT too, like bubblegum!

ok, after a full weekend here's how i got on...
Wash car
Clay bar the whole car (hand)
poorboys ssr2 whole car (PC)
poorboys sealant (PC)
poorboys natty wax (hand)
poorboys trim restore (hand)
poorboys tyre shine (hand)
hoover interior
poorboys natural look for interior (hand)

so so so pleased with the results, it looks like a different car. unfortunatly i dont have beofre and after pics. To be honest the car cleaned up really well but this is just another level!!

Since the original detail ive cleaned the car and used poorboys QW (quick wax) which also gave great results

very happy
