But it wasnt possible, because i ave a 57 reg cooper s but the original remap was achived on an early 2006/7 R56 s. And unfortunatly it seems that some of the electronics on the ecu board are different so they were not able to complete the remap. I think the ecu is slightly dfferent because the slightly newer versions have the auto start stop. So i think its back to the drawing board for morego and probably superchips and minispeed because i think they based there remap on the early R56 s. Hopefully morego will be able to remap my car in a few weeks as they took pictures and electrical diagrams or my ecu board so as to study it and get incontact with there "sources" who will hopefully tell them whats what. I hope!

Often when we have problems with cars the first thing is to put it on the SSS machine and check for SW updates. You may find that once your early car is updated to the newer SW it will take the upgrade no problem. Don't hold me to this info but would be worth a go! www.detailperfection.com

Also there isnt a coding problem because the actual hardware internals of the ecu are different in look and i guess in function it looks like a completly different setup. Because the ecu internals are laid out differently and the internals are actually different sizes etc it wasnt possible to even mirror my ecu software so as to be able to modify it, also meaning there was not easy way of putting the new mapped files onto the ecu. Ideas are very welcome.

We only saw on change in 5 years of R50-53 production. Wont take them long to figure it out Have you considered the precat removal too?
