I had a nasty idea this might be a problem with the power steering pump (a common fault on pre-2004 MINI's) and this was confirmed by Hampshire Cars this morning. The power steering pump has gone. The cost for repair is £350 for parts, plus VAT and labour which will bring it up to a grand total of £504! However, bearing in mind my MINI is only a few months out of warranty, is still under the TLC servicing package and has only done 34k miles the girl at the dealership went back to BMW to see what they could do. She came back saying that they had agreed to pay 100% of the parts, leaving me with only the £150 labour to pay. Result! The girl's name is Cat and I'm taking her a bottle of wine on Friday as a 'thank you'. Image: http:// i82.photobucket.com/ albums/j246/ keithbuton16/mMm- banner-new.jpg | ||
