Changes to run notes part two - please print them off again!

Isle of Wight mini Run 2007

                     September 14th – 16th

Minjo and Mico1 are thrilled to put on another run – we loved last years as we know many of you did, we have been inundated with requests to do it again this year – so here it is.

 Why the
Isle of Wight? Well apart from the fact we live here and love driving here. Here are nine amazing reasons to join us on this run:

1. The long costal military road – a cliff top drive of approx 15 miles that is virtually straight with fabulous views.
2. Hundreds of tiny rural roads that twist and turn and enable you to put your mini through its paces.
3. The infamous Zig Zag road at Ventnor, pretend you’re at
Monaco (Lol!)
4. Steep climbs up downs where we can stop for photo shoots with fabulous views as backdrops!
5. And possibly a sticker to mark the event!
6. And Jo and Sarah promise to drink another bottle of wine and get very silly again!
And we have taken on board all your kind and supportive comments from last year so we will include: MORE pit stops for photo shootsMORE driving through grockle infested towns to show off
7. It is Minicabrio's Birthday and there will be champers!
8. It is for charity - Breast Cancer (probe appeal)
 8. Free chocolate form the mars company courtesy of Hyperblooze!

Have we convinced you yet? How can you not come? Lol!
Come and camp with us – or spend just for the day… whatever you choose do not miss out on the fun!

So here goes….. Proposed* Activities:

Friday night: Arrive at campsite and set up your tent.  This evening is Minicabrio's birthday party plus... FISH 'n' Chips and Bingo evening! BOOK YOUR FISH N CHIPS ON SEPERATE THREAD! Prizes for Bingo donated by MINIPirate and EssentialMINI - all proceeds to the Breast Cancer Probe Appeal Charity. We'll take your fish and chip order and money and we will get the local fish and chip shop to deliver the fish and chips to us! Plus the usual campfire and banter - bring your own booze!

Camping fees will be £7-00 per tent of 2 people (additional people in same tent + £2-00)
or £5-00 per tent for 1 person, prices are per night, cheers lynne @ stoats farm.
.

Please book camping yourself - thank you!
There is a pub/inn right next door for those of you who want to stay somewhere a little more comfortable.
Campfire and great company – bring your own booze!
Campsite: http://www.stoats-farm.co.uk/index.htm
Pub: http://www.highdowninn.com/htm/thebar.htm

Saturday: Mini run: Round the Island and through the middle, climbing twisting and turning, all the thrills of the roller coaster!  (leaves at 11:00am from campsite)

Lunch, will be provided by Isle of Wight College Students*: last year this was fabulous and we are sure it will be again. It will be a cross between a cold buffet and packed lunch style. Cost to be around £5 -  all proceeds to the Breast Cancer Node Probe Appeal

At least four  stops planned for in lovely places, plenty of time for photos, chat and a rest!

Back at campsite
5pm - 6pm

Saturday night: Back at campsite, we will light BBQ’s bring and cook your own food!
We'll light the campfire again and have a charity quiz event. Once again prizes donated by MINIPirate and EssentialMINI - all proceeds to Breast Cancer Nobe Probe appeal

Sunday: Pack up and relax! If you are interested in staying on the Island for the day we can sort out a pub lunch as a group. Let us know and we can book ‘The Folly’, a fantastic waterside pub that is infamous for its menu and location. (Prices: £7– 15) All popular pubs on the island get very busy so we need to book in advance! The Folly is close to Red Funnel ferry terminal -so on your way home stop for a final bit of fun - go home on a high note after the boring packing up of tent etc!
Again book on this post if joining us for meal!

Tent Comp!

And now we proudly present ... for those of you brave enough to Camp in September.......

The Tent Comp..... (Those Babyblues need real opponents!)

Best dressed Prettiest Tent i.e. Fairy lights, Boas, Ribbons etc, etc wins a small hamper wiv wine and other Goodies! No rules ( except for safety one below) - , themes or no theme - your choice use your imagination! Entry fee £1.00 per tent top go to the Breast Cancer Node Probe Appeal.

Lynne, Campsite owner (pretty please Lynne?) will be our judge!

Minijo and Mico1 ARE allowed to enter but will share prize if we win, which of course we are so arty farty we are bound to do!

Boring safety warning: Candles are lethal in a tent - so safe entries only please!

Travel: There are two companies running car ferry services to the Isle of Wight:
Red Funnel run from Southampton – East Cowes www.redfunnel.co.uk (current price they are quoting is £57.50 based on two in a car; day return £32:90
Wight Link run from Portsmouth – Fishbourne and Lymington – Yarmouth www.wightlink.co.uk ( current price they are quoting £71 based on two in a car; day return £46.60)
Ferries do get booked up – so we advise you book once you have decided to come!
At the moment Red Funnel seem to have better deals on than Wightlink, but ring and ask and get the best deal possible. You may have to ask for details of special offers they are not always forthcoming.

Directions to campsite from ferry terminals will be posted here, as of course will run details – so watch this space!

Warning! The island road are very bumpy as some of you discovered last year. If your car is lowered you may want to go slower that the rest of the ride! However, the roads are also great fun to drive on; lots of twists and turns.

Please reply to this post to register your details and to make suggestions (clean ones!).We need to know:

1) If you are coming
2) If you are camping or day trippin’
3) If you want a pub meal on Sunday lunch time

Ferry booked We're going from Southampton to East Cowes at 2pm-2.55pm on Friday 14/9/07 and back the same route on Sunday 2.30-3.25pm.
