HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH if anyone wonders why i have been off for a few weeks on easter day my internet died.... i knew the problem was with the exchange so phoned india (please move them back to england or at least a clear accent!!) to solve my problem... now it took me 25 calls and two weeks to get through to them that the problem was not with any of my settings or equipment, every time i called regardless of what my "account notes" said they still went through the same paragraphs printed on there computer screens.... NO I DON'T HAVE A LIVEBOX ITS A ROUTER NO THE SETTINGS ARE FINE NO THE RIGHT LIGHTS ARE ON AND NO I'M NOT ALRIGHT WITH THE INCONVIENCE OF BEING WITHOUT THE INTERNET FOR WEEKS WHILE YOU FART AROUND CORRECTING A MISTAKE ON MY ACCOUNT THATS THERE BECAUSE SOMEONE 2 YEARS AGO DIDN'T UPDATE OUR PROFILE TO SHOW OUR INTERNET WAS WORKING.... don't even get me started this was the first few questions. basically i told them every time i phoned (each call took 30-60 mins) that the problem was in the exchange... finally after my account had been corrected (with there mistake) they managed to spell my name correctly despite spelling it numerous times (learn better/ clearer english PLEASE) they did a 10 minute line check. then having to phone back 3 times in a row to get through to someone who was capable of reading the results..... then needing a 3 day line check... BEFORE fi nally they sent out a BT engineer who said he found an error in my exchange.... the really poor bit was that i had to out and out lie and say i was a network engineer and have tested my router in my business to check it works fine. it was the only way to make them stop there accusations that something was wrong with my settings or equipment,...... GRRRRR 2 week rant over... (now to check my 112 e-mails!!! 8O ) So you can now enjoy the celebrated ale that still eludes the Ferrets of the Gribble Inn - Fursty Ferret | ||

One trick is often to "accidently" call the business number which more often then not is actually in the uk to give better support. BT are a complete nightmare but still better than the rest i've used. Maybe Virgin will sack all the NTL staff and they will actually be good. We eneded up landlines, mobiles and ISP provision all through them, great service and cheaper than BT, plus a local account manager who would come and visit to talk to me if there were problems 8O  | ||

Posts: 1586 | Took Tiscali 4 weeks to sort my Broadband connection out when I moved house and despite telling them where the fault was and sending them screen captures from my Router and Modem settings, of the setting and the fault. :twisted: I don't know who they employ, but they don't seem to have anyone competant. :twisted: It has just taken 2 of us less than 4 weeks to set up an system out here, in numerous sites, including servers, clients, infrastructure and comms. That also included the pain in the arse of moving ourselves and the kit around :roll: | ||

  Registered Member #370 Joined: Thu Mar 15 2007, 12:00AMPosts: 171 | :o :o :o :o my internet sucks big time as i neva get a look in my parents and brother have laptops that need a plug in broadband connection as i have wireless but no router i am stuck with out internet, thats wen lunch breaks at wk are good. got a boring night tonite and tomorrow saturday i am workin 9 am till 11pm/12am not good and sunday i am sposed to be out with the other half if i can figure out what is goin on there in his head. but you no all boring. i have 2 weeks and 2 days left at work before i leave for my new job in southampton. got some makin up to do with best mate,  :oops: yeh so my rant is on goin what is everyone else doing the weekend???
