Its now three years old, and I am assuming that the previous owner probably just kept waxing over them without properly washing it first. I think they are mainly spots of tar - if I get my thumbnail into one it kids of spreads and then after some elbow grease it will eventually disappear - but there are just so many of them particularly on the lower areas behind the wheels and quite a few on the back too - if I use my thumbnail method it will take me weeks to get rid of them. I am wondering if I can t-cut it or something similar?? Seems early in its life to need a t-cut but these spots really do seem ingrained. Does anyone know of a miracle product or method?? Any advice greatly received Cheers Ph il

The clay bar safely traps and lifts off contaminants as you lubricate the surface with Quik Detailer. Costs about £15. Might do the trick.... Works very well with a heavy concentrated bucket of soapy water. Leaves bodywork like a mirror. Image: http://www.scnm.net/ e107_plugins/ coppermine_menu/ albums/userpics/ NEILSIG4.jpg

Lots of varieties of clay out there to be used but make sure you get a detailing type spray with it to act as lubrication or it wont work! I also have got some Autoglym Super Resin Polish which I am planning to go over it with after the clay, and then want to give it a couple of coats of wax. Any recommendations on the best wax?? Cheers Phil

Cheers Phil Just don't forget to fully wash your car before and after you use the clay - especially afterwards before polishing / waxing as the clay leaves a residue that you don't want to contaminate your wax with. I haven't used wax that often, I tend to use a polish and then a liquid sealant. Poorboys Carnauba Sealant has been good. Though I think Chemical Guys Nano Sealant is the apsolute dogs, put on two coats prior to the winter and having only cleaned the car a couple of time during this period, cleaned it only on Saturday and it has come up a treat still! Thanks to the replies on here I'm hoping that my clean/clay/clean/ polish/wax day at the weekend will help keep it a little shinier - or at least easier to clean.
