No worries Gareth Not taken as aimed at me anyway.

If there's anything that we can effect to avoid in the future in here what DK and Soggy have referred to earlier I think that those with direct experience might advise us?

PM from them to us - if they're not happy about sharing it in here - would be welcomed

Perhaps rather than being a mainly online based club, with a huge number of members, the majority of which seem to be inactive

We form into a proper club, with a commitee monthly meetings at a different location may be each month. With a subscription paid by those who live in the area and attend regular meetings.

Also by setting up a catchment area (maybe South of Salisbury ) and then may be have honorary membership (decision by vote of permanent members) for a lesser membership fee for those who live outside this area and wish to be part of the community and can be bothered to attend events, such as those from Birmigham or James in Scotland (no not James he could pay full whack )but obviously wouldn't be able to attend a lot of events

What would we have done before the age of the internet..top idea Sergeant

Overpromoted?

I am quite happy to discuss my limited experience in the open, however, the advice will still be the same, don't form a club with constitution, rules and regulations and all the cr@p that comes with being a club, it will end in tears.

Ask the likes of Tigger (MINI Cornwall) and Mini-Cruiser (MINI2mini) who have been involved in clubs and see what they say.

Exactly - I was going to mention M2m as well as the Club MINI2 debacle from 5 years or so ago, i'm not aware of the MINI Cornwall issue. I think Wibbly from MINI Addiction might be having some issues too. It's just not worth it, just enjoy the forums for what they are, fun times with MINI owners

I'm happy to carry on just making donations on an ad-hoc basis, does it need to be formalised at all?

i dont think we should ever formalise it

unlike clubs of old this whole new mini thing has grown up on the internet. ture there has been a few issuse along the way and things have happened some good and some bad(im not talking about any 1 thing here)

the other advantage having it all net based is its infinlatly more user acseeible (says he in scotland) but also for those who dont have the time to attend commite things etc but just like to come on and sign up for runs or make thieir voice heard every once in a while

it was all of this that attracted me to scnm in the first place ... lets not mess with a good system

You think we could connect him to the National Grid via a sceptic (correct spelling ) tank?

Hey the amount he produces should be good for a half kilowatt per hour which over the month realises... ....er about £42

Sign him up Jimbo quick

we could make our own power company called SCUMP (South Coast United Mini Power)

all powered off the pure power of Bull***t from arron of course

So you can now enjoy the celebrated ale that still eludes the Ferrets of the Gribble Inn - Fursty Ferret

yea but it takes about 100 hours of running to charge a single AA battery 8O so I think Arron should stick with the hot air &/or Methane production

doh, me being a muppet - I was thinking sponsor as in anyone who donates rather than a company that sponsors the site, makes more sense now  thanks James
