WHAT IS IT
A gathering of MINI owners at Sarah's Burger Van on Portsdown Hill.

WHEN IS IT
The first Thursday of each month come wind, hail, rain and England games.

WHOSE IDEA WAS THIS
The Portsmouth and Southampton MINI Owners Club (P&SMOC) are a Classic MINI club who've now opened their doors to New owners. They have a VERY large age range of owners and some of the younger ones especially want to get a look at some hot New MINI's. They want to grow MOTH from being just for one or two Classic clubs and for it to encompass ALL local owners of EVERY type of MINI.

WHAT DO YOU DO
Stand around looking at MINI's, talking about MINI's, planning runs and events, taking the michael out of anyone in the car park NOT driving a MINI. And eating burgers or kaybobs. Then the fastest and hottest cars do the famous 'Hilsea Run' - which is a mini MINI-run to the burger van outside Hilsea where we stand around talking about MINI's, planning runs and events, taking the michael out of the neon-covered Corsa's and Saxo's. And eating burgers or kaybobs. Spot the trend!

Who fancies coming along with me next time? Who wants a chance to have other people fawn over their pride and joy? Who wants to meet more MINI owners? Who wants to build some more bridges across the Classic/New divide? Most importantly, who wants a burger or a kaybob?

Unless anyone has a better suggestion, I think we should meet:

Good news, I can make the meet on March 1st and I don't have to take time of work.

Found out today that a training course is taking place on the 1st for a system I have just started to use. This means I'm in the office from 9am till 4.30pm instead of my usual 1.30pm till 9.30pm.

My mobile is 07961 935965.

Remember to give your MINI's a good clean and polish (John can explain what than means, Arron) as conincidently they will be lining up all the cars to take some piccies for the club magazine!

The Fareham SB is easy to find:

- come off the M27 for FAREHAM CENTRAL (not FAREHAM WEST)
- head SOUTH on the DUEL CARRIAGEWAY and take SLIP-ROAD on the LEFT
- you will now be at a LARGE ROUNDABOUT with a HOTEL
- the LARGE ROUNDABOUT is UNDER the DUEL CARRIAGEWAY you were on
- take the FOURTH exit (1 is Portsmouth, 2 is Southsea, 3 is Town Centre)
- after a few hundred feet you will see a retail park on the right with SB!!!!

That's the EXACT place, Dave!

Isn't technology a marvellous thing? I'd be lost without my remote control anal love beads...

Good stuff. This is turning out to be a good show of SCNM cars now.

At last count we have the following going.

Keith (mini one)
cooper_sport (GTT Cooper S)
MINI Poser (JCW Cooper S)
Neil the hat (Cooper S plus nice brakes)
T15 Matt (Cooper with cool lights)
Dave (GTT Cooper S)
Hobzy (Maybe) (Lohen tuned Cooper S)

We have a nice selection of cars to show.

I've not made any rash promises about attendance, but I have mentioned on the P&SMOC forum that I won't be coming alone - everyone seems quite excited!

If we have a GP to bring - the bring it along! What a wonderful set of pictures we can make it - early 1960's Classics, Clubmans, Coopers, Woodies and Ones all the way through the Works Cooper S's to a Works GP!

Some fantastic piccies there. In the end there were more MINI's there than Mini's - but I hope everyone had a nice time despite the cold.

Remember, this is the 1st Thursday of each month and once the clocks go forward (or back?) and it starts to get lighter and warmer that car park will FILL with cars of all shapes and sizes.

Thanks for everyone that made the effort - you can tell just by looking at the Forum at how impressed everyone was to see us!

See you all on Saturday!

Thanks Keith for getting this all planned.

Was great to meet some classic mini owners that like the new model and to see some very old mini's still going strong. Still wish I had my classic mini was great fun when I had her. I'll have to post a pic of her.

I enjoyed showing and talking about my MINI and her many mods. Was a shame we didn't have more classic mini's but was a very cold night for a meet. Hopefully I'll get along to one in the summer.

The roads around the hill are great and wish I had been there sooner.

It was FREEZING on the Hill at the last one - and the News outnumbered the Classics!

The next MOTH is Thursday 5th April - I would imagine we will see a slightly higher temperature and a much larger turnout!

Hello All

Just a quick reminder that this Thursday is April's Mini On The Hill (MOTH). We'll have weather and light on our side this time, so if you have the time and the inclination I'll seeya there!

If not, the next meeting is the first Thursday in May - bring your MINI and your burger money!

Can't make this month due to work hours and people already being on holiday. Going to see about getting the time off for the one in May.

That reminds me, I need to check out where and when the P&SMOC are meeting for Poole Quay as we should have a joint club stand or at least try and get us all parked near each other.
