Just received this

IMPORTANT READ CAREFULLY - ABINGDON FINAL INSTRUCTIONS

Many thanks for booking your track day with us at Abingdon on 23rd February. This promises to be a fantastic event at this wonderful venue and we are sure you are going to have a great day of driving.

Please read this carefully as it includes some important information regarding directions and event details. Please remember to stick by these rules as this is still an active MOD airfield and any breaches could result in you not being allowed onto the site or being expelled by security.

PLEASE drive SLOWLY in the area and remember that this area is in the heart of the countryside surrounded by beautiful villages, so your actions can either safeguard or destroy the long-term future of this track day venue. Also please pay special attention to the noise regulations listed below.

Directions to Abingdon Airfield, Dalton Barracks, Abingdon

From the A34

Take the exit signed Abingdon A415 and Dalton Barracks and at the roundabout take the third exit signed Dalton Barracks.

In half a mile turn right signed again to Dalton Barracks and then turn right again signed to Dalton Barracks.

After 300 yards turn left onto the airfield.

For those of you with satellite navigation the postcode for the Barracks is: OX13 6JB. Note the airfield is adjacent to the Barracks.

Once on site follow out black arrows on yellow backgrounds and proceed at no more than 15 mph to the paddock area.

The MOD do not tolerate speeding around these roads so please adhere to the 15 mph limit or you may be asked to leave the site by security - thank you.

Please note that no dogs are allowed on site.

Start Time

Please aim to arrive for signing on from 0845. Being late might mean you miss the driver's briefing and/or some of your driving sessions. The drivers briefing will be at 0915. Passengers must be 16 years old or over and will be asked to provide proof of age documentation if there is any doubt. If none is provided, then they will not be allowed on track.

All drivers must show their driving licence at signing on. If we do not see your licence you will not drive NO EXCEPTIONS. Please tell this to any of your guests who wish to drive.

Rules

Please listen carefully at the driver's briefing and if you are unsure of anything please ask a member of our staff. We must stress that our days are run in a friendly fashion and that good driving etiquette is not an option! - both on and off the track. We have a quality team of experienced event staff to oversee the day, all in radio contact, so please accept that any decisions we make are final. It is our right to expel any guests who might compromise the safety or running of our events.

Noise

The strict rule at Abingdon is 100dB(A) at 0.5 metres and at 4500 rpm, for motorcycle engine cars we require this to be 3/4 of maximum rpm. If you have doubts about conforming to this please contact us ASAP. This rule will be enforced rigidly, so if you have any doubts either consider adding extra silencing or do not come. There will be noise testing for everyone prior to track driving commencing. Please note that we do not allow any race or competition cars to participate only cars which are currently road legal. THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS TO THE ABOVE RULE.

Instruction

Track instruction from highly experienced racing drivers will also be available at a cost of £20 for 20 minutes or £50 for an hour. You will be amazed at how much you can benefit from a lesson. Book your instruction time in advance or at any time during the day with Natasha.

Helmets, Food & Petrol

Remember to bring a crash helmet or to contact us and we can provide one for you at £10 for the day. We do require a deposit of £30 for any helmets that are hired which is returned at the end of the day when the helmet is signed back to us.

A catering van will be on hand all day to provide hot and cold drinks and food. Breakfast will be available from 8.30am.

Petrol can be found at the Tesco Superstore which is located just off the A34 and Shell Optimax is available locally.

If we can be of any further assistance please do not hesitate to contact us on 0870 787 2116 or on the day 07855 482953.

Just a quick note to everyone going:

There are major roadworks on the A34 at Whitchurch, please allow extra time to get through them in the morning!
