Dave,

Just called Roland and have now paid my £50 deposit for all three.

I did ask about fitting cost's and to modify the GTT airbox it will cost £15. To fit the lower ones will be 1 hour labour so around £56. Now just need to wait for 4 more people to pay the deposit and we can then go ahead with the GB.

Think the £30 voucher will be used on getting my car upto GTT220 spec around mid Feb.

Yes that includes you. Rolands thinks you will be doing the group buy as well. I'm not sure weather to go the black route or get the new style upper brace.

I guess with the battery cover issue this is a MCS only offer and not Cooper?

Soggy,

Just looked through previous post's and it would see the upper brace does fit a standard cooper model. Minus the battery cover though.

Do you know the opening hours of GT Tuning, as in what time can i call to be able to speak to someone at GTT :.

Can i also ask if the "powder coat clear laquer" you speak of, is something different to the Pearl Patina i saw when Roland first launch the upper strut brace. If the clear laquer is something brand new could post a pic up at all :. Thanks .

Hi Andrew,

I called Roland around 4ish and the other guy picked up and got roland for me. You should be able to call him between 9.30am and say 4.30pm.

I was talking to Roland about the new one and he said it is very much like the original one but with a clear laquer on. He hasn't put any pics up yet but he said it does look better than the original and he wished he had done it to start with. Is also a lot easier to look after.

Thanks for that - might be of interest to me then.

Does removing the battery cover cause any potential problems or is the cover purely cosmetic?

I think its cosmetic as it doesnt exactly seal much anyway. If you're handy with a hacksaw I think you could just cut a strip out of the cover if you dont go too deep and still keep it. Afterall the brace and battery dont move so they wont be rubbing. Just a thought

Our normal opening hours are:
9am - 5.30pm Monday/Friday
9am - 1pm Saturday

The original strut brace is no longer available and is replaced with the clear laquer one. Basically looking the same but with a clear protective coat on it to stop it getting scratched and going dull as metal does. So basically you're getting the brace for the same price as the original where as the powder coated ones are £30 more if I remember correctly.

I will see if Rolands fitted on yet to a sound kit.

Anyone else know? Dave JCWCooper? Did you have one?

JCWcooper had one fitted to his MINI. So if he has a sound kit fitted it must be fine.

Added me to the list.

GP strutbrace added for extra £10+vat

Roland couldnt think of any reason why the brace wouldnt fit on the Sound Kit but if you post a pic of the engine bay we can check
