Interested in the most stylish and well designed strutbrace around, the GTT Strutbrace?? I for one love the look!

Please can everyone interested register your interest on this thread so be can get an idea of numbers before we can get an idea from Roland on what kind of deal he can offer.

Info:

"This product is the the first to use a new finish we call 'Pearl Patina'. The 'pearl' because it changes colour & shade as you move it in the light. The 'patina' as the swirls are similar to to the Alloy Patina option for the Mini dashboard, although the GTT swirls are a little smaller (better I think) and on Alloy not plastic. All the finishing is done by hand We did 3 finishes including Mirror polish, Satin & Pearl Patina. Everybody said the Pearl Patina looked best................ so Pearl it is."

"OK 'This GTT product IMO gives the most significant upgrade in handling that I have ever experienced on any car ' Even more so than other cars that we have produced a 'similar product' for. The improvement is so great I can feel it every second of the journey on any type of road/surface. I could even feel it driving out of the industrial site. My grip on the steering wheel ,which is normally very tight on bumpy B roads, now doesnt need to be. All the tugging ,and twitching as you put one wheel through ruts and grooves has gone! It feels to me like the chassis is longer flexing.....and thats exactly what it is. Under braking I'm correcting much less and Ive just realised all the dash rattles have just stopped.

We can sell you a Bilstein kit for £1400 ,or this new GTT Strutbrace , for a fraction of the cost ,which IMO improves things more . (irrespective of the huge price difference!)
I have run my car with both OMP and JCW strutbraces and I found them to make little or (JCW) no difference at all. We knew the GTT Strutbrace would be many times more rigid than these, but if the chassis isn't actually flexing in the first place ,then it still wouldnt improve things. My before & after test drive confirms not only was it flexing, but alot more so than we expected. In summary this Strutbrace does for handling what a GTT220 does for performance. We will test it furher on the track at the Castle Combe Track Day next Saturday- Be there!!!
BTW it fits over the stock or JCW airbox without any mods, and doesnt dig into the under bonnet lining."

PRICE £199+vat (£234inc) per single item.

Here are the first pics of one the Brand New 'GTT Lower Mid Chassis Brace' .

This is 'the' first brace to clamp through the rear ends of the subframe into the chassis in 4 positions (12mm bolts) linking each side together to prevent flex in this area. By using 4 bolts it prevents pivot movement front/rear & up/down which you would get by using just a single small bolt at each end. We've gone quite a bit further than this though ,here some of the features:-

- CNC milled from Very high tensile 50mmx 16mm 6082T6 Alloy extrusion.

-Satin Black powder coat finish. (very tough & durable)

-Milled rectangular pockets (to reduce weight.)

- Integral raised bosses - Check out the close up shot (pic5) ,you can see wev'e machined all the metal away along the entire lengh on the uppermost face, just leaving the 4 raised round pads - this avoids a weak point occuring at the base of the counterbores.

-' Scollop' machined in the centre to give clearance with non stock cats (its still a very chunky 16mmx 38mm solid metal even at the narrowest point.)

-No reduction in ground clearance whatsoever.

Note this brace is designed to be fitted either on its own or in addition to a ' Lower FRONT Brace'. You can see in the photo on the car ,this car has the second brace (a red OMP one in this instance) still fitted further forward. The GTT Front Lower Brace that fits in 'this' position is still about 2 weeks away.

'GTT Lower Front Chassis Brace'. (sometimes refered to as a lower strutbrace, but you can call it that if you like & we'll know what you mean )
Spec :-

- Thick wall 32mm diameter tube .

- Hand mirror polished S316 stainless steel construction throughout (no mild steel anywhere)

- Fully tig welded (no tacks everything welded all the way around)

- Easy & quick to fit.

I believe the group buy will be for collection and fitting at GTT. Unless people want it sent to them.

I would also like the lower brace as well.

Dave, I'm also looking to get this around end of Jan 07 when I can cash some shares in at work. I'm more than happy to put down a deposit before then to secure my place on the group buy. Also hoping to upgrade my MINI to GTT220 at the sametime in Jan.

- How about TWO new GTT Lower Braces! Theres a front one and a second one further back that bolts/clamps the chassis and the subframe from one left to right.- Uses 4 bolt fixing (M12 bolts) so cant pivot on its own fixings. Full details to follow soon. The front one is TIG welded tubular Stainless Steel, the rearmost one is high tensile flat section solid alloy ......Expected prices ? The front one £85+vat ,the rearmost one £59+vat .
Best Regards Roland GTT

So dose this mean that by securring the front struts with upper and lower braces, that flexing is generated else wear in the chassis, or dose the second lower brace correct flexing that was there all along.

I look forward to reading further details and hopefully seeing some pictures as well.

In the latest issue of modern MINI they talk about brace's for the MINI and also mention the middle/rear brace and have pics. Is worth having a read or getting on of us to bring it along on the next meet.

Hi Guys, the warranty is still valid on the car. It cant/wont make anything fail (100% GTT Guarantee ). The lower braces are not related to any moving of the flex to another area. Each brace does the job of stopping flex in the area it bolts to, it doesnt make another area flex any more (or less). The reason for a decision to make 2 lower braces is partly due the unexpectably large improvements the GTT top strutbrace gave. We know lower braces work on the Mini, hopefully by upping the spec (beefier) and using two rather than one the improvements will be of a similar magnitude (maybe even more?) of the GTT Upper Strutbrace.
Best Regards Roland GTT
ps Yes I rather like the black too
