CASTLE COMBE TRACK DAY We are thrilled to announce our second track day at Castle Combe Circuit in Wiltshire. Our first event there in June was a sell out and due to popular demand we have secured another event at this popular track. Places are strictly limited and are on a first come first served basis. Book online now to avoid missing out! Friday 29th August £199 Open Pit Lane = Unlimited Track Time! Customer comments from our June event included: 'Just wanted to say a quick thank you. In 5 years of doing trackdays I have never been to a circuit track day that has been so well organised, free from stoppages and had such a friendly attitude from other drivers when out on track. Definitely one to remember!' Once again the day will be overseen by our very own Ed Moore who has unrivalled knowledge of Castle Combe and has won over 30 races outright at this track. Who better to ask advice for negotiating the tricky approach into Quarry corner or for understanding how to maximise your exit speed out of Camp corner? In car coaching will be available from our regular team of superb instructors who are race winners at Castle Combe. 20 minute lessons are excellent value at £20 and an hour of coaching spread through the day is only £50. I still need to find a way of getting my exhaust sound tested to make sure it isn't over the limit for Castle Combe.

If I can get the day off work and possibly get Hoang to come along and pay half I might go. Do you know anywhere I can go to get my exhaust noise level tested as I don't want to pay the £199 to turn up and find my car is over the 100db limit. I'm running GTT manifold with decat and reroute pipe on standard exhaust (minus one silencer) and is very very noisey.

I need a cheap airfield day first with some long instruction as the Tango-mobile is VERY different to drive to the MINI. Plus it tops out at 115 at the mo due to a low diff so It'll be a bit slow on the straights...

CC is definitely the best race track I've been on ![]() Not as fast as Thruxton nor Bedford Autodrome but the most entertaining - with the knowledge that if you leave the track the armco and piles of tyres filled with concrete await you  Took the Porsche in the end as my MINI has a DSC fault which affects the engine performance that Woods in Salisbury have been unable to rectify. Not as quick as my MINI up to 100mph (but then quicker to 155 than the MINI), the Porsche 944 S2 is perfectly well behaved on the track - no lift off oversteer, being almost perfectly balanced with a 50-50 weight distribution front-rear as the gearbox sits atop the rear axle... Also a bit more roll from one side to the other through the chicanes than the MINI. Well the suspension setup IS 20 years old. Overall a highly entertaining day with the usual cohort of fast EVOs, very fast TVR and Noble M12 and the usual crop of furiously buzzing elises, exiges and lotus/caterhams. It was dry though. Now, wet would be scary!!!!! 100-110mph on the straights ![]() Oh and I met Garry from Carmarthen thrashing his MCS Clubman I have put him on to NewMINISeverns :cool:Look out for the next one Thursday 27th October ![]() I'll take the MINI if BMW can fix my DSC fault!
