I looked up the thread from the last Ides of March Run back in 2006, and the link of route Max posted up doesn't work anymore Dave sad.png. Can that link be repaired or would it have to be re-posted, ie off of Max's PC question.png.

Hi all scnm
Think this is a great idea that max had there are a lot off sussex surrey members now would be good to have a run up this way.Its just an idea but as max started this run you could make it a memorial run in his name every year what do you think . I am sure all the sussex surrey regs will be well up for it as we have been trying to get together with the rest off you count me in if you need a hand to sort anything out would be glad to help.

Our first run was just after Poole Quay in July 2007 around zig zag hill with Lottie, John, Joanne, Tom and we think Dave was there too. Also had lunch at the aerodrome place. My favourite run is still the pirate treasure hunt, good one Lottie! A March run sounds a great idea. Brilliant annual tribute to Max and start of run season!

Just wondered if i might be so bold as to put forward a date for the Ides of March Run. How does Sunday 15th March 2009 sound ?. It just so happens that the official date for the Ides of March is the on 15th of March. What does anyone else think of that ?.

HI hyperActive
think thats fine lets see if others agree and then we can get it sorted what did you think of making it a yearly run as a tribute to MAX . maybe MAXS MEMORIEL MEET (run) .would be a fitting tribute to him and a great way for SCNM to pay tribute to all the time max put into this club.

Yes it would be nice to see it become a yearly run. I still have fond memories of this run when Max did it back in 2006. The runs Max organised is what this club is best known for. Though TBH i wouldn't be in favour of calling it a Memorial Run, that just doesn't sound right in referrence to Max. It would probably be best to start a thread to talk about this, but i'm a bit worried it's too soon just now.

Have to agree... memorial would more reference a run on the day Max passed or on the day he was put to rest.

I think a memorial run taking place on the nearest Sunday to Max's passing would be good I suggested to Dave we could do it every year, and ask for a £5 per car donation to take part in the run and donate all monies raised to his charity! what do you think, we would certainly be happy to contribute. But we should also think of Dora and consider her thought at this sad time.

Given his affiliation to the Armed Forces and the fact he died so close to 11/11 we could do something each year in support of Help for Heroes on or around 11/11.
