On september 29th it is the MINI action day at Castle Combe. This is one of the last big events this year for old and new Mini's. Last year around 80 clubs from around the country turned up and each had a small club stand. You also get the chance to take your MINI out on the track in a 15min session just for Mini's. Dave and I went to this last year and just turned up on the day. We had a great time on the track in the pouring rain and sunshine.

This year I would like to get a small club stand together to help raise the number of new MINI's at the event. Last year I didn't spot a new MINI club stand apart from the ones on the mini cooper register stand. People are welcome to come along and just take part in the club stand but if you are up for it you can also buy a track pass.

Please note this isn't like a normal full on track day with open pits and a mix of different cars. Each session you buy lasts for 15min and you will only have classic and New mini's on track.

If you are interested please reply in here saying if you would like to be on the club stand and if you would like any sessions on the track. I will be going on track and will be getting thre e track sessions.

Track Pass Information

For those interested in going on the track we have the following times and prices available to us. Each Session lasts 15min and start at ??:00, ??:15, ??:30 and ??:45.

Before 11am = £15
11am till 4pm = £20
After 4pm = £15

Now i've just checked the web site and they do have a few sessions for just old mini's and a couple for new. I'm going to get a track pass from each of the above time slots so total cost will be £50. If people would like some track passes please let me know by Thursday 30th August so I can get the form sent off by the end of the week. Once Maria at Castle Combe has my form she will confirm if the times selected are ok or if we need to amend them a little.

I plan to have my track time as per the below.

10am
12pm - New MINI only session
4.15pm

Once I have confirmation from Castle Combe on the track passes we want I will then be asking for the money.

For those needing helmets. These can be hired on the day for £3 an hour with deposite by debit/credit card.

Club Stand Info

For anyone wishing to be on the club stand I need you car reg by Thursday 30th August. After this date I will be sending the form off and do not know if we can then add more cars later. The club stand can be setup from 16.00 on the day prior or before 09.00am on the day. This will mean getting to Castle combe about 8.15am on the Saturday for most of us. I will most up details of convoy, etc nearer to the event.

Below are the rules we MOST keep to on the day.
1.Club Displays must remain within their allocated area. No part of their stand or display may extend beyond the area. No drilling or pegging into the tarmac.
2.The circuits official marquee supplier can hire marquees, awnings, furniture, etc. Book through Tavern events on 07887 775161
3.Trailers should be parked in allocated area.
4.Access to the site is via competitors gate only.
5.Clubs are not permitted to trade from their stand. With the exception of selling their own club merchandise.
6.Setup from 16.00 on the day prior to the show or before 09.00 on the day of the show.
7.The site must be cleared by 19.00 on the day of the show.
8.No playing of lound music or I.C.E demonstrations.

 I'm trying to organise a Midlands club to come down for this too. Maybe a combined stand if you dont get the numbers together?
