Helllllloooo again!

Do you guys have any plans for a track day, its a bit short notice for my boss (damn him) to get on the June one but are there plans for one later in the year?

As I am pretty new to this, can someone please let me know whether I will need anything special, I have read somewhere on here that a crash helmet would be useful. Is it the case you wont be let on the track unless you got one?

Is there anywhere that does track day insurance? Dont really wanna be picking pieces of aero kit out of the armco, putting it on the road and try and claim that the other bloke drove off!

Take it easy!

I have no plans for taking part in a track day at the moment but hoping to do castlecombe in September. Depending on money I would like to get along to brands hatch again or maybe goodwood.

With regards to helemets, you can rent these from the track you go to and will cost around £10. I ended up buying a scooter helemt for around £35 since I do quite a few.

I don't bother with track day insurance as the excess you have to pay is normaly a lot of money if you do have a crash. So far I have done around 5 track days with no problems. As long as you drive to your own limits and don't go mad you will be fine. TBH track days are much safer than driving on the normal roads. You are all going the same way and we have no overtaking on the corners. The only track day I have done with anyone crashing was brands hatch. Had a RX8 clip the back end against the barrier and a mx5 run against the tyre wall. Both cars just had body damage.

If you already have an insurance policy with greenlight insurance then they will cover track days at £50 a time.

I think specific track day insurance tends to be expensive for a single day.
