Return to the Ring 2007 (& DTM German Touring Cars)

Hi all,

Well, it would be rude not to wouldn't it.

Time to start gathering interest for a 2007 trip, to co-incide with a round of the awsome DTM (German Touring Cars).

Proposed Dates are :

Out:
August 30th 2007
Thursday Evening Crossing.
Stay in a nice hotel on the French side to prepare for a day in the saddle Friday, this avoids getting up at stupid o'clock on the Friday morning for a run to Dover.
Friday - Hoon it through Belgium to the ring.
Saturday / Sunday - DTM + Nordschleife Open
Monday - Home for you lot, or Join me on a blast down to the Cote d'azur for a week.

Transport
Spe edFerries Dover - Boulogne are £60.
Norfolk Line Dover - Dunquerke are £48.

Hotels
Have a look at the links on Ben's site at Ben Lovejoy's Nurburgring Nordschleife website

I'm booked into Landhotel Oberbaar which is a lovely little hotel, famed for its fine peppered steaks & wonderful hospitality.

Race Tickets
Trying to organise a block booking with infield parking (TBC).

Insurance
quoted me around £200 so worth looking into if your policy (like mine - tesco's) dosn't cover you for "Track Days" and specifically "De-Restricted Toll Roads". Be very carefull as the Ring and De-Restricted Toll roads are being written in to most policys now.
Although you don't need it officially anymore, a Green Card is adviseable. You will only be covered 3rd party if you do not have a Green Card.
Holiday insurance is essential these days, I'd also recomend getting yourself an European Health Insurance Card which replaces the old E111 forms. EHIC and Health advice for travellers : The Department of Health - P&G: Health advice for travellers

Informa tion
Before you sign up please take time to read Ben's pages above.
The Nurburgring is one of the most thrilling tracks to drive in the world, but its also dangerous if you fail to give it respect - Read the safety information carefully.
In 2003 we counted 13 Mini's out of England and sadly only 12 back.
This trip is being (semi) organised by myself with the help of others, but you and you alone are responsible for your actions, the organisers are in no way responsible for anything that may happen to you or your car due to your - or someone elses negligence.
Check your vehicle insurance policy before you even think of signing up !

Any questions please mail me.
